imageArte Ginestrelle, my home for the month on Mount Subasio, behind the town of Assisi, where I’m working in one of the many outdoor studios.  Although the indoor one on the third floor of our ancient stone house is more practical, especially for a mixed media artist with so many materials, the nature here is so enticing that it’s hard to stay inside for long. There’s always a cooling fragrant breeze, and the fig tree next to the open barn where I stand here offers up nectarian yellow figs ripe for the picking.

A sketch of the corner of my bedroom done on one wakeful jet lagged night.  Simplicity reigns in this beautiful old stone house – an elegant, nature inspired simplicity that elicits relaxation and comfort.imageThe house and outdoor studio as seen from below after a night of rain.
