“Spiral Ascent”, acrylic and collage on canvas, 24 X 24″
Often I get so immersed in my paintings I can’t tell down from up, especially in this Maelstrom series. Originally this image seemed to be descending, as in a well. As when a stone is thrown in, and one waits for the “plunk” at the bottom. There is light, so perhaps this stone will find its way up into the freedom of air. It’s all in ones perspective.
This is one of the new paintings I’ll be showing at ARTrails open studios Oct. 12, 13, 19 and 20. Actually my studio will be filled with new work, so I hope you’ll be able to stop by.
Tomorrow evening is the opening of the preview exhibition where you’ll find a piece from each of the 150 participating artists. Come to the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts, 50 Mark West Springs Rd. in Santa Rosa, 6-9pm, with wine and food and loads of art and artists! I’ll be there!
