Three Kings of Antiquity

inks, acrylics, collage, cheesecloth on w/c paper

we three kings

glorious now we behold them rise
these kings and queens
who live in eternal time
bearing silent witness
to the sorrowing and the sighing

there is no old-growing here
only shards of that
which never changes
but gets a lovely patina
growing moss and lichen

I don’t think one can go wrong incorporating cheesecloth into a painting for texture, variety, and mystique.  Press it into the wet painted surface and it may imprint with a pattern. And if not, it will take on the colors of the painting so that it can find another place to rest in harmony on the surface.
