Those wild horses are still running and stirring “things” up. I looked up Horse in The Book of Symbols: Reflections on Archetypal Images. Here’s a snippet:
“The horse is transcendence for man. Poseidon, god of sea and quaking earth, gave the horse to mankind, but Athena of wise counsel gave us the bridle. With these gifts we have transcended the literal limits of space, time and strength by harnessing horsepower to our efforts, while in the imagination, the horse has become an even greater chthonic power animal of the cosmic beyond, magically capable of beating a hoof to bring forth springs of living water, soaring winged into the sky, driving the sun across the heaven or inspiring fear and dread as the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.”
So take your pick of archetype. I had in mind the winged soaring (no doubt my avian nature showing here), the cosmic beyond and magically capable, but with further contemplation, the apocalyptic horsemen arise as well, terrifying in their destructive power. Gulp. There’s a bit of the devil horse in this image I believe, as in the next as well.
I put this image in the December Newsletter which you may read here, and someone saw a two headed horse. So I clarified a bit. . .the”head” on the left is actually a tail, in case you’re wondering. Sometimes I may leave just a bit too much to the imagination!
