A Bird Trio

“High Wire Bird”, Acrylic and “skins” collage on w/c paper, 10 X 7″

So if you were invited to a bird fest you might expect to see these three characters, dressed for the occasion.

Personally I would like to have a hat like this one.

. . .and fly into the sunset with colorful feathers streaming. . .

  1. I love the colors. You have so much talent! Is there anything special to do when painting acrylic on watercolor paper? I am only just learning so it would be a lot cheaper than canvas. What other things can I paint on? Maybe cardboard?

    1. I like to coat the watercolor paper with gesso and let it dry before painting acrylic on it. You can get a lot of mileage out of a pack of 140 lb. CP watercolor paper in full sheets which you tear into smaller ones. I wouldn’t use cardboard. You could try illustration board or mat board but stick with the archival kind.
