White and Read All Over

Newsprint, acrylic, charcoal mounted on illustration board, 10 X 14″

Yet another chicken, discovered in my drawer as I was getting ready for ARTrails open studios.  Now it’s matted and in the bin at the sale.  One of my favorites.  It’s one of those perfect sunny fall days here in California wine country and we’re so enjoying all the visitors to our studios!  Hope you can come too. We’re open til 5 today and all next weekend.  Details here.

The chickens will be greeting visitors as well.  And I’m hoping for a chicken expert who might be able to tell me whether my Brahma hens (the gorgeous giants with the feathered feet) are turning out to be roosters!  They’re about a month away from the onset of crowing, if they are in fact roosters.  As is usually the case in the bird kingdom, the males are the dandies with the extravagent plumage and these two really fit the bill.
