Inks, gesso, collage, stamping, stenciling on w/c paper 10X11″
imagine there’s no past or future
just an onward flow of moments not to miss
Imagine you’re a child again
with blue sky backdrop
always a new day
and no getting stuck
in grown up-y ways
the dragon with the bulgy eyes
has come to take you for a ride
imagine you hop on and go
somewhere no one’s been before
I am tempted to quote John Lennon’s lyrics to Imagine, but you probably have them in a sweet spot in your memory. We listened to the song in Monday Muse Group this week and even painted to it. I pictured faces of people around the world, the ones we wish could “live as one”, and started cutting out faces for collage.
But Muse group is about allowing that pesky Muse who has her own ideas about what will show up in the art and it’s best to let her have her way. So this dragon appeared, and I wasn’t surprised. He’s been lurking around inside the door of consciousness for a while now, waiting for his opportunity. A friendly sort he is though, guarding the treasure of imaginings.

“Dragon Dream Conversations with the Muse” ended up being actually
enjoyable and enlightening! Within modern society that is really hard
to execute. Regards, Demi
