The D.O.W. (Dangerous Old Woman)

DOW

inks, stenciled, and collage on gesso (decalcomanie) textured surface

winged mermaid, in watery flight
cast your tendrils out to catch waves,
to interlace with feathers of falcon.
soar to angelic territory,
take a terrifying earthward plunge
to stab the rock surface,
telegraphing seizemic shifts.

in the silent world of dreamtime
where all seeds are sewn
you is trumpeter of truth
ageless sage, young crone

I really like that textured background, the music sheets, and the moon’s phases. Wonderful collage, Susan.

Stencils are so cool. Love this curly curvy wonderfulness! How did you get the tone one tone? Looks great.

In conversations with the Muse I mix paint with vision, collage with story, word with meditation and prayer. And out of the mixture comes a release of energy and healing and a lightening of the load of everyday living. You'll find most of it here, where I've been showing up for the past few years, along with collectible paintings, travel sketchbooks, figure studies and an invitation to join me in art play and discovery!
