Heat Wave!

What happened to our lovely spring weather? We’ve been getting a serious roasting here in the San Francisco Bay area, so when I ran into this old sketch of my son from summers gone by, well I had to share it. Don’t worry, it’s a non-alcoholic Marguerita, and after all, the real appeal is the crushed ice and limeade in a wine glass. I’ve spent the week figuring out all the ways to block the sunlight from our sunny, view-inspired home and art studio to avoid the 100 degree heat. . .and finally today, slowly the temps are sinking. Meanwhile Ben, who’s going off to University of B.C. Vancouver at the end of the summer, is gloating about the wonderful cool weather he’ll enjoy up there. Cool and rainy does actually sound pretty good right now.
