Fantascape #3
February 22, 2008 by Susan Cornelis
Acrylic on illustration board, 11″ X 7″
In this Fantascape #3 I seem to have jumped into the sea! A dream of sailing in the South Pacific perhaps (on Miki and her brother’s boat?) A sailing regatta (I’ve been listening to the book on CD, Luncheon of the Boating Party by Susan Vreeland about Renoir’s painting by that name.) Or perhaps a myriad of other associations. As in a dream I have aerial and oceanside perspectives simultaneously. See 007 on the sail, and my fingers there clinging to the board in the foreground in a churning sea, waiting for rescue?
Now for another Fantascape visit Miki ’s Wings and Roots

This is a wonderful sailing painting, Susan! I am always extremely excited to discover your fantascapes!
Yes, i do hope that we will be one day together on “Paso Doble”, our catamaran. It is in Tahiti at the moment, moored, as the captain, my brother, just underlied an operation… but soon they all will sail again!
I am sure, the captain would love your painting!!!
