I have this wonderful brush by Isabey with about two hairs on the tip and a fat wad of hairs at the base. I think it’s called a Dragon’s Tongue? It’s great for quick sketching with ink. I use Dr. Ph. Martin’s Fine Art Watercolor inks in browns and yellows. Since [...]

The fourth painting in my “Fissures of Time” series. It’s on the wall now as I decide whether or not I’m finished with it. It’s purely an “intuition” painting, executed on canvas with newspaper and oriental paper collage and acrylic paint.

I take little acrylic abstracts with me to figure studio and sketch on them, playing around with the figure and design, usually after I get back to my studio, since a twenty minute pose is still a big time challenge.
