First of all, chickens. I started out with 7 baby chicks this spring, two of them Silkies. And if you’ve ever seen Silkies, they are the most girly looking of all chickens with their fluffy pantaloons and plumy hats. Well, wouldn’t you know it, both of them turned out to be roosters! [...]

Diving and surfacing

Heat wave here. Been on the road a lot on various family missions this summer. This morning, a blessed undisturbed time in my studio, the first in longer than I remember. Boys at high school. The big red sign posted in my window. Phone unplugged. I circled round many times, [...]

A year of incubating and several weeks of planning - the brilliant assistance of my adorable husband/web designer/critic/proponent — and finally we launched my new website, Imagine With Art Please take a look. There’s workshops, paintings, contemplations, and more.
But first, here’s last week’s figure model, Annamaria.

A collage start - at my messy “contemplations” table I rummaged through the pieces of painting experiments, colored papers, etc and found two I liked. One had the paper’s watermark emphasized with gel medium and a wash of golden color, and there was an infinity sign. After I’d glued on the collage pieces [...]
