Archive for February, 2007

Sometimes I do a little art creation and then put it aside until it speaks to me again. I started this piece before the Yucatan trip while doing some collage with my young students, showing them how to weave strips of cut-up watercolor paintings. I don’t recall having anything very specific in mind. [...]

Yucatan postscript

Slowly the door on the Yucatan vacation is closing. I no longer feel the surge of the ocean nor find the sand lingering on my things. One last sketch from a photo of Andy enjoying the vacation occupation, lying in a hammock with a good book.

Doodle Dees

Haven’t gotten over to my figure studios lately and I was feeling itchy to sketch figures, so I doodled them instead. They turned out to be dancers, I guess satisfying another unmet need - to dance.
This will be my last post for about 10 days til I get back from the Yucatan, hopefully [...]

Wanting to be at peace about the loss of my chickens, I collected their feathers from the piles around the yard. THat’s all that’s left - these beautiful feathers that kept them so warm during our freezing spell last month. The feathers that made them beauty queens to me. I thought about [...]
